Does it keep playing in the background?

Yes. Noise keeps playing when you switch apps or lock your iPhone or iPad. You can stop and restart it from the Lock Screen, Control Center, or your headphones' controls. Swiping the app away in the App Switcher stops it.

Is there a widget?

Yes. Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Noise Connoisseur in a small or medium size. Tap a sound in the widget to start or stop it.

Can I use Shortcuts or Siri?

Yes. The Shortcuts app has Play Noise, which starts the sound you choose, and Stop Noise. Add them to a shortcut you can run by asking Siri, or to an automation, such as one at bedtime.

How does the volume slider work?

The slider in the app sets the noise level within your device's volume, so you can keep the noise quieter than other sounds. It's remembered between launches.

Playback stopped on its own. What happened?

Open More → Settings → Playback log to see recent playback events, such as interruptions from calls or other audio. To ask us about it, tap Share and send the log to support@a2f0.net. It stays on your device unless you share it.
