Does it keep playing in the background?
Yes. Noise keeps playing when you switch apps or turn off the screen. You can stop it from its notification, the lock screen's media controls, or your headphones' controls. Swiping the app away from Recents stops it.
Is there a widget?
Yes. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Widgets, and choose Noise Connoisseur. Tap a sound in the widget to start or stop it.
Why did playback stop after an update?
Google Play closes an app to update it, which stops the noise. Open the app and press Play to start it again. To avoid interruptions overnight, you can turn off automatic updates for Noise Connoisseur: open its page in the Google Play app, tap the ⋮ menu, and turn off Enable auto update.
How does the volume slider work?
The slider in the app sets the noise level within your device's volume, so you can keep the noise quieter than other sounds. It's remembered between launches.
Playback stopped on its own. What happened?
Open More → Settings → Playback log to see recent playback events and, on Android 11 and later, the reason Android gives for an unexpected stop. To ask us about it, tap Share and send the log to support@a2f0.net. It stays on your device unless you share it.
