Privacy Policy for Android

Effective October 23, 2026 (UTC)

Noise Connoisseur for Android collects no data. We don't receive your settings, listening history, or playback log. There are no accounts or ads, and the app contains no analytics, tracking, or third-party code that collects data.

On your device

The noise is generated on your device as you listen, and the app doesn't connect to the internet. Links you open from it, such as Support, Privacy Policy, or the other versions in About, open in your browser or store app. The app never asks for access to your location, contacts, microphone, photos, or files. While noise plays, Android shows a notification with a Stop button, as it requires for background playback.

The app remembers a few settings on your device: your volume, appearance, language, and which sound is playing or was last played (so the home screen widget can show it). It also saves listening history on your device: the sound played, its start and stop times, and checkpoints every 15 seconds during playback. This history is used to show your listening chart.

These settings and listening history stay on your device and are never sent to us. Android's backup to your Google account and transfers to a new device may include them, under Google's terms. To erase them, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android's settings for the app.

Playback log

A local playback log keeps the latest 300 events to help explain unexpected stops: timestamps, sounds, commands from the app, widget, notification, and media controls, audio focus changes, headphone and speaker disconnections, and audio engine failures. On Android 11 and later, it also records the reason Android gives for an unexpected stop, such as an app update, low memory, or a crash. Each event's details are limited to 512 characters. The app never uploads this log. You can view it in More → Settings → Playback log and choose to share it; Android's share sheet sends the text only to the app or person you select. The log is excluded from backups and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

Google Play

Google handles downloads and payments under its privacy policy; we never see your payment details. Google gives developers sales and install reports and, if you've chosen to share usage and diagnostics data, crash reports. We use these only to understand and fix problems with the app.
