Privacy Policy

Noise Connoisseur is a noise player for iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web at nc.a2f0.net. We don't receive your settings or listening history. There are no accounts or ads. The native iPhone, iPad, and Android apps contain no analytics, tracking, or third-party code that collects data. The production website uses the click analytics described below. The iPhone and iPad and Android apps also have their own privacy policies.

On your device

The noise is generated on your device as you listen. The iPhone, iPad, and Android apps don't connect to the internet for playback or history. Links you open to support, privacy information, or app stores use your browser or the relevant store app. The web version downloads its own files from nc.a2f0.net and never sends your settings or what you listen to. The apps remember a few settings on your device, such as your volume and which sound is playing (so the home screen widget can show it). They also save listening history on your device: the sound played, its start and stop times, and periodic checkpoints during playback. This history is used to show your listening chart.

These settings and listening history stay on your device and are never sent to us. Your device's own backups may include them, under Apple's or Google's backup terms. To erase them, delete the app, or on the web, clear this site's data in your browser.

A local playback log keeps the latest 300 events to help explain unexpected stops: timestamps, sounds, playback commands, audio state changes, and system error or process-exit details. Each event's details are limited to 512 characters. The app never automatically uploads this log. You can view it and choose to share or save it from More → Settings → Playback log; sharing sends the text only to the app or destination you select. Native log files are excluded from device backups. Clearing app or site data removes the log.

The website

nc.a2f0.net is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare receives the technical details your browser sends to load a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and uses them to deliver the page and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't add analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers.

Website click analytics

The production website uses CT, operated by Tearleads, LLC, to record clicks with a random per-click identifier, time, element type, site, application, and environment. Every page is recorded as /. CT does not record text, form values, link destinations, query strings, fragments, listening history, playback logs, volume, or the sound selected. Editable fields are excluded.

The collector records the request IP address and approximate country, region, and city supplied by Cloudflare. Click records are retained for 90 days and accessible only through an authenticated dashboard. They are not linked to an account or persistent visitor profile.

This website overrides Global Privacy Control. Do Not Track, saved CT opt-outs, and the CT browser extension still stop collection. Clearing site data also clears a saved CT opt-out; reapply it afterward or use the extension or Do Not Track. Automated browsers and development previews are excluded. See CT privacy and opt-out instructions. These analytics apply only to the website, not the native apps.

App stores

Apple and Google handle downloads and payments under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google); we never see your payment details. They give developers sales and download reports and, if you've chosen to share diagnostics with developers in your device settings, crash reports. We use these only to understand and fix problems with the app.

Children

The native apps collect no personal information from anyone, including children. The production website collects the click, IP, and approximate location data described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
